Empathy

Whether it be on TV, in the movies, or in the conversation you eavesdropped on when you were supposed to be studying in the library but decided it would be way funnier if you trolled peoples' lives, it always sounds stupid.  The phrase, 'We've been trying to have kids for a while' just sounds so stupid. 

How hard could it be to get knocked up?  I mean, even the trashy girls in high school who don't understand Pythagorean Theorem excel in the art of getting a bun in the oven, so what is it with this whole trying thing?

I used to think that people said that just so that I'd be forced to imagine the speaker and his/her partner mid-bang, but I see now that I was completely wrong.  I now understand, wholeheartedly, the trials and tribulations of couples who struggle to conceive. 

You see, I just spent an entire hour trying to win a game of solitaire.  If I have to try at that, surely there must be more to the whole baby thing.  Barren parents, I feel your pain!

Ok, I'm going to go get pregnant now.....lol, jk.  I'm gonna play another game of solitaire.
